Who are you interning under, what do they have you do, and out of all your responsibilities which is your favorite/most interesting?

I am interning under Troy Gilbert, and so far I have worked in Adobe programs creating documents for Amplifi. My favorite part of my graphic design experience so far has been creating business cards and flyers!

Where do/did you go to school and what subject do/did you major in?

I will be a junior this fall at Connecticut College, majoring in Art and minoring in Architectural Studies.

How did you first become interested in your field of study?

I have been interested in art ever since I was little, but I started my passion for graphic design in college when I took my first graphic design class and learned the Adobe programs.

Have you interned here before, if not, have you interned elsewhere?

Last summer, I interned for Spruce Interiors over in Hampton. I helped stage houses and come up with concepts and designs for interiors, as well as photographing the spaces.

Do you have any pets?

Unfortunately, I do not have any pets, but I love cats and I plan to get one in the future when I live on my own.

If you could go to dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?

I would want to go to dinner with my mom, but a version of her from when she was my age. I think this would be really cool and I’d be very interested to see what she was like.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go, why, and who would you take with you?

I would love to go to somewhere in South America as I’ve never been and I want to swim in warm water. I would bring my grandma because she lives alone and I rarely get to see her, and she also loves travelling.

What is your favorite app and why?

My favorite app would have to be Pinterest. I get a lot of inspiration for my design work, fashion, and recipes from it, and to me it is social media minus all of the negative aspects and only positivity.

What is on your bucket list?

Learning to surf is definitely on my bucket list, I’ve lived near the beach for my whole life and I have never learned how. I think if I tried it I would love it but I’m a little scared.

Fall, winter, spring, or summer? Why?

My favorite season would have to be fall. I love the weather, the foliage, the fashion, and of course Halloween.

THANKS FOR THE INTERVIEW and your hard work, lauren!
