Intern Spotlight: Lauren Bower

Who are you interning under, what is your role, and what is something that you are most excited to be working on?

I am interning under Laura Mynahan, and I assist the designers throughout the start to finish process wherever I can help. Some of my tasks have included furniture + materials selections and decks, various project documents, CAD, Interior Renderings, etc. I am most excited to be working on Interior Renderings. I have done renderings for my own class projects, but I have little experience rendering off an existing space which has been challenging but a great learning experience.

Have you interned with us before, if not, have you interned elsewhere?

I have not interned with The Element Group before; however, I have interned with Helen Piteo Interiors in 2019 and R.L. Baxter Building Corp. in 2020.

Where do you go to school? What year are you, and what do you study?

I am currently a senior at Endicott College studying Interior Design and Architecture

What drew you to your field?

My dad is a contractor so I have been around the industry for as long as I can remember. I have always been drawn to the creative aspect of design and the fact that every project is different.

How did you hear about Element?

I found The Element Group on Handshake.

How did your first day/week go?

My first day/week went great! Everyone was extremely welcoming and instantly made me feel at home. It was definitely helpful to have an onboarding schedule for the first couple days to really get to know the company and everyone I would be working with.

Ok now some fun questions!

Any pets?

I have 3 dogs, 8 goats and 15 chickens

Coffee, Tea, Other?

I don’t really like coffee or tea. If I had to pick a favorite drink it would be a Shirley Temple.

Give me one additional fun fact about you!

I have my own sugar cookie company

Special thanks to Lauren Bower.
