Chris Bailey

Chris Bailey joins Element as a Communication + Digital Graphic Design intern for the Fall. He will work with Nate, Scott and Julia on digital design projects.

Where do/did you go to school and what subject do/did you major in?

Northeastern University for Media Art with a focus in Animation.

How did you first become interested in your field of study?

I was always drawing, writing music, and trying to make videos at home when I was growing up. I used to walk around our neighborhood and film times I would spend with my friends to make little videos. Sometimes we would make skits. Eventually I got around to animating my too. It was all something I did as a hobby and now continue to do inside and outside of work.

What’s your favorite food and why?

Have you ever had lobster eggs benedict? The Canadian bacon is switched out for lobster. That stuff is crazy. I’d pay any number for it.

Tell me about your favorite hobby.

My favorite hobbies are exactly what I do at work. I love to make videos and music. I’ve spent way too much time and money on personal projects and equipment, but it was always worth it.

How did you hear about Element and what was one thing that stood out to you about the company?

Judy came into contact with my father, and he told me Element was looking for someone who can edit videos/animate. I love working here. On my first day, the biggest thing that stood out to me was how nice the Element team was and how much passion everyone had for what they do. It doesn’t really feel like I’ve been working for a business; it genuinely feels like I work with a family. Seeing what the company does has also been very eye-opening my work involves a lot of before and after shots of different branches we’ve worked with. It feels awesome really getting to see how amazing our product is at Element.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go, why, and who would you take with you?

I love visiting the Bahamas. I would go to Nassau with my family anytime.

Who are you interning under, what do they have you do, and out of all your responsibilities which is your favorite/most interesting?

I’m interning under Nate and Scott as a video editor and animator. I make videos for the YouTube channel/Navori, and I run the digital/behind-the-scenes work for webinars. I love all of the different things I have the opportunity to do, but I think the most exciting would have to be running the webinar because there’s so much involvement. Cameras have to be set up, microphones have to be set up, audio/animations/footage have to be pre-made, and everything has to be cut together in real-time while we’re live. There’s some adrenaline to it, but it involves everything I enjoy doing at once.

What is your favorite app and why?

Snapchat. I love to cut goofy parts out of photos and use them as stickers in the app later. A funny picture someone sent me months ago could be recycled months later and end up being twice as funny.

Special thank you to Chris!
