Who are you interning under, what do they have you do, and out of all your responsibilities which is your favorite/most interesting?

This fall I am working as a marketing intern with Doug and Bryn. I will be working on a variety of tasks including meeting management best practices, posting content on Element’s marketing channels, and creating and presenting reports. One of my first projects is to interview Nate, William, and Marc to learn more about the Element story and philosophy. I look forward to gaining valuable hands-on experience during this internship and can’t wait to learn more!

Where do/did you go to school and what subject do/did you major in?

I recently graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA and got my bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a concentration in PR.

How did you first become interested in your field of study?

Throughout my courses at school, I learned how effective communication is crucial for both public relations and marketing. I’m excited to use the skills I have learned in PR to gain more knowledge in the marketing field and apply it in the future.

Have you interned here before, if not, have you interned elsewhere?

I have not interned with Element before. Previously, I interned for Tracy Coughlan Design as a social media intern.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have an adorable yellow lab named Lily!

If you could go to dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?

If I could go to dinner with anyone, dead or alive, I would choose Audrey Hepburn. She will always be remembered as a timeless fashion icon and an advocate for children’s rights.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go, why, and who would you take with you?

If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to the Maldives. I love the beach, and this island has beautiful white sand beaches. I would bring my younger sister because we both love traveling and trying new things.

What is your favorite app and why?

My favorite app on my phone is Instagram. I love seeing what people are up to as well as being able to share photos of my life and interests. As someone who has thousands of pictures in her camera roll, Instagram is a great platform to upload those memories and share new ones.

What is on your bucket list?

I want to travel all around the world and visit as many places as I can!

Fall, winter, spring, or summer? Why?

Out of all the seasons, I would choose the fall. This time of the year is the best because of the weather. Nothing beats the beautiful New England foliage and fall festivities like apple picking and pumpkin patches! I am a big fan of Halloween and Thanksgiving too.

Thanks for the interview and your hard work, Kate!

A firm believer in the concept that 'beauty will save the world,' Bryn holds a B.A. in History at Ave Maria University, and a minor in Medieval Studies. While at Ave she completed her thesis "Influences on Material Culture: Catherine de Medici and the Art of Political and Social Display," where she argued for the presence of Catherine’s Italianate and Florentine upbringing as manifested in material sources. Over the past five years, she has worked at Element as an intern, and then content developer specializing in writing. In following C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterton, who wrote that magic and wonder are found in the everyday, Bryn works to combine historical research with the creative skills of directing, acting, and set decoration. Her set decoration work can be seen in Canticle Productions' upcoming films 'Hazel' and 'Medora: Empress of the Badlands.' Bryn’s “element” usually involves some degree of horseback riding, exploring literature, appreciating art, or learning about production design. She believes in the importance of seeing and loving people to the fullest, making genuine connections, and sharing divine mercy.
