Who are you interning under, what do they have you do, and out of all your responsibilities which is your favorite/most interesting?

This summer I’m interning under Doug and Bryn who comprise Element’s marketing team. So far I’ve been tasked with posting content across various social media pages including LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. I’ve also been given the opportunity to start working on agendas for three separate meetings with Nate, Marc, and William, in which I’ll be interviewing them all to gain invaluable insight into the origin story of Element, the history within the industry, and overall enhance my knowledge of the four key services Element offers. Although I have not conducted interviews yet, I would have to say that this is going to be one of my favorite responsibilities, as I’ll have the opportunity to learn from people with years of experience, while also gaining more practice leading meetings and how to best structure them.

Where do/did you go to school and what subject do/did you major in?

This upcoming Fall, I will be entering my last year at the University of New Hampshire as a senior majoring in both marketing and entrepreneurial studies at the Paul College of Business and Economics.

How did you first become interested in your field of study?

Growing up, I’ve always been creative and have loved working on projects. While at UNH, I declared a major in marketing my sophomore year, due to the insight I was given from fellow peers, and from what I learned in certain classes. I was drawn to marketing because I found it intriguing to work on go-to-market strategies, branding, content design, and more! Overall, I was interested in marketing because I wanted to utilize my skills to help whichever company I ended up having the privilege to work for, to help better their marketing efforts, and gain more traction within the market.

Have you interned here before, if not, have you interned elsewhere?

I have not interned at the Element Group before, and have not interned anywhere else prior. With that being said, I’m very excited about this opportunity and eager to learn as much as I can throughout my time at Element.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have one pet! His name is Sniper and he’s a German Shepherd that we got from the Czech Republic.

If you could go to dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?

If I could go to dinner with anyone, dead or alive, I would choose to go to dinner with Princess Diana. I strongly admire Princess Diana due to her courage, determination, and kindness. Princess Diana overcame societal norms and stood her ground on all of her beliefs, and I feel as though I could learn a lot from her over just one dinner conversation. I also would love to hear both her story and the reasoning behind everything she chose to do, especially in lieu of the royal family’s strict rules and beliefs.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go, why, and who would you take with you?

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would choose Australia. The reason why I would choose Australia is because I’ve always wanted to explore and see the Great Barrier Reef. I’ve always found coral reefs fascinating, and have always had a soft spot for all sea life. As for who I would take with me, I would bring along my cousin Gabby because she would love the sun and beach just as much as I would, and she’s also my best friend! We’d have a blast together!

What is your favorite app and why?

I would have to say that my favorite app is Instagram. I love this app because it’s a platform that allows friends and family to keep up with each other’s lives, and see what everyone is up to. I also love that by posting images on my feed and story, I’m able to express who I am as a person, my interests, and my overall style.

What is on your bucket list?

  • Travel to Italy (take a cooking class)
  • Go snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef
  • Have the opportunity to compete in Miss New Hampshire
  • Live in a big city for a year

Fall, winter, spring, or summer? Why?

If I were to choose between fall, winter, spring, or summer, I would definitely have to choose summer! I love summer because I enjoy going to the beach to catch a tan, but also am always on the lookout for cool seashells and sea glass to add to my collection! I enjoy going to the lake with my family each year as well for a reunion we call Cousins Cookout! Whether we’re tubing, riding the jet-ski, playing manhunt, or telling stories around the campfire, it’s always a blast and another great memory from the summer. I also love summer because the weather is finally nice and makes walks around downtown Newburyport and Portsmouth much more enjoyable. Being able to eat dinner outside is also a perk!

Thanks for the interview and your hard work, Hannah!
