Who are you interning under, what do they have you do, and out of all your responsibilities which is your favorite/most interesting?
I am Interning under Laura Mynahan and I’ll be working on and experiencing a large range of tasks – from site visits, making F+M packages, to working on design documents. So far, the most interesting responsibility has been participating in site visits because it’s great to see the design phase actually being implemented.
Where do/did you go to school and what subject do/did you major in?
I currently attend Wentworth Institute of Technology and am studying Architecture.
How did you first become interested in your field of study?
I have always been a builder and a creator. Growing up, I always loved making my own toys with either Legos, cardboard, or wood. As I got older, I took that desire to build and applied it to the design and creation of buildings. This led me to begin making architecture, both physically through models, and through computer programs. I loved the mix of logical and creative thinking!
Have you interned here before, if not, have you interned elsewhere?
No this is my first internship.
Do you have any pets?
I have a black cat named Sanji.
If you could go to dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?
I would go to dinner with Jim Croce, because I love his music and would love to talk about the ‘why’ of his writing, and where his inspiration comes from.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go, why, and who would you take with you?
If I could go anywhere with anyone, I would go to go to Iceland for a few weeks with my girlfriend and my best friend to adventure around the country and experience the breathtaking landscape.
What is your favorite app and why?
My favorite app is probably Notion, just because it has helped me organize my life and focus ideas and thoughts.
What is on your bucket list?
Backpack through Europe.
Skydive.
Kite Surf.
Design my own home.
Fall, winter, spring, or summer? Why?
Summer! I love the warm weather and being outside.
Thanks for the interview and your hard work, Dylan!
